Our colleague, Venera Niyazbayeva, has achieved a Master's degree in Arts in Multilingual Education from Nazarbayev University!
Venera's motivation for returning to education was to set a positive example as a lifelong learner and researcher for her children. She was guided by this motto from Christian D. Larson: "Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle." It inspired her to overcome challenges and strive for success.
While studying at NU, Venera found these books particularly helpful and inspirational: The Red Pill by Kurpatov, Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg, Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, and The Quick Recipes Book.
Fantastic achievement, Venera! You set a great example for all of us. Our heartfelt congratulations to everyone at the Library!

#EALC2024
The Nazarbayev University Library hosted the 13th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference 2024, held from May 29 to 31 at NU. We were thrilled to hear the insights shared by the keynote and invited speakers. It was a delight to meet so many delegates from various regions of Kazakhstan and around the world, who seized the opportunity to interact and network during the three-day event.
The annual conference was conducted in partnership with IFLA Management of Library Associations and received support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Higher Education Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Akimat of Astana City. The main theme for this year’s EALC was "Connect, Collaborate, Create: Advancing Library Associations and Partnerships to Future-proof our Profession."
