Hi Madina!
Thanks for sending your question and congrats on your recent graduation! I totally believe that you need a much deserved break! Although solo travelling might not be for everyone, it is also nice to give it a shot at least once in your life! And I admire you for planning one!
You mentioned finding solitude and I think such feelings are valid. This has been evident in a recent study wherein finding positive solitude is a primary motivation for solo female travelling which allows oneself to enjoy some activities on their own.
Planning is the key for solo travelling. Aside from planning where to go, you also need to check your finances. Since you mentioned that you don't want to break the bank, I suggest looking for some resources that will help you plan. There are tons of online resources such as websites, blog posts, and videos that include budget-friendly itineraries depending on the destination and duration of the trip. They might give you some ideas on how to get some good deals, travel recommendations, etc. Just make sure that you are checking reliable sources! 😃 It would also be nice to learn from the experiences of those who tried solo travelling. They might give you some practical tips or at some point, share reliable contacts, too! 😎
And to give you a little boost, you might want to take some inspiration from John Van Wyne’s Wanderlust: The Amazing Ida Pfeiffer: The First Female Tourist. I’m certain that this book will keep you company during your trips.
I hope you find my answers helpful, Madina. All the best in your SFT journey and we can't wait to hear about your trip! It will be fun, for sure!
