Research, Learning, and Innovation
Established in 2010, the Nazarbayev University Library serves as a central hub
for academic life, supporting research, learning, and innovation.
The Library’s diverse collection comprises nearly 200,000 print titles,
extensive e-resources, journals, microforms, and multimedia materials.
Over 8,000 publications are hosted in the NU Repository,
reflecting the scholarly output of the NU community.

Actively participates in global initiatives such as Open Access Week, Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week, and the International Women’s Day (IWD) Campaign

Professional Development for Librarians
  • The Annual Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC) has been hosted by NU Library since 2011
  • The Eurasian Academic Libraries Training (EALT) at NU Library has fostered professional growth and innovation in library services across Kazakhstan since 2012
Recognition & Awards
  • In 2021, NU Library’s Virtual InfoLit Race Challenge received the prestigious ALA Presidential Citation for Innovative International Projects
  • In 2023, NU Librarians won the NU Teaching & Learning Award for the Sauatty.Keleshek Project, which focused on developing media and information literacy skills among school librarians in Kazakhstan
  • In 2023, an NU Librarian received a medal from the National Bank of Kazakhstan in recognition of significant contributions to advancing financial inclusion for persons with disabilities
  • In 2024, NU Librarians were awarded Honorary Certificates by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan for their contributions to librarianship
