NU Library Expert Speaks at KazAELT Central Asia Conference 2025

We’re happy to share that Ziyat Abdykaimov, Expert Manager for Assistive Technologies and Accessibility at the NU Library, took part as a speaker at the KazAELT Central Asia Conference 2025, held in Almaty from June 20 to 22. The event was supported by the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL, UK).

His session, delivered in an “Ask Me Anything” format, covered a wide range of topics, from digital accessibility and inclusive education at NU to his activism in disability rights and the broader disability movement in Kazakhstan. He also shared personal reflections on living with vision loss, everyday experiences, and learning English.

We thank the organizers for the opportunity and hope that Ziyat’s participation offered an engaging experience for all participants while also highlighting the NU Library’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
