At the end of October, the NU Writing Center, in collaboration with the NU Library, held a presentation of Dr. Olga Campbell-Thomson’s book The Philosophy and Practice of Foreign Language Education: The Contribution of L. V. Ščerba.
During the event, participants explored the legacy of the distinguished Russian linguist Lev Vladimirovič Ščerba (1880–1944), whose theories continue to shape modern approaches to language education, methodology, and policy. Dr. Campbell-Thomson, Teaching Faculty at the NU Writing Center, shared insights from her groundbreaking work and discussed the historical evolution of foreign language teaching.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Campbell-Thomson and James Swider for this fruitful collaboration and for donating a copy of the book to the NU Library collection. The NU Library is always pleased to support the academic achievements of our community and promote their dissemination. Stay tuned for more upcoming book presentations!
