Resumption of Library Services Starting September 2, 2024

We are pleased to announce the resumption of some of our services from September 2, 2024!

1. Issue of Calculators, E-Readers, and Laptops:

Calculator Borrowing Policy
Loan Period: Up to 1 month with 1 extension via circulation desk.
Borrow/Return Location: Main Library, circulation desk, 2nd floor.
Requirements: A NU ID is required to borrow a calculator. The borrowed calculator must be presented for renewal and return.
Conditions: You must not have any overdue items on your library account. For NU students only.

E-Reader Borrowing Policy
Loan Period: Up to 1 month with 1 extension via circulation desk.
Borrow/Return Location: Main Library, circulation desk, 2nd floor.
Requirements: A NU ID is required to borrow an e-reader. The borrowed e-reader must be presented for renewal and return
Conditions: You must not have any overdue items on your library account. For NU students only.

Laptop Borrowing Policy
Loan Period: Laptops can only be borrowed during working hours.
Borrow/Return Location: Main Library, circulation desk, 2nd floor.
Requirements: Your NU ID card will be held at the circulation desk while you use the laptop.
Conditions: You must not have any overdue items on your library account. Laptops are to be used within the library only. The service is available only to NU students.

2. Book Delivery Service:

A Book Delivery Service between the Main Library and the School of Medicine Library is now available.
Request Procedure:
  1. Find the book: Search through the library catalog. Pay attention to the available copies and location.
  2. Fill in the "Book Delivery" form.
  3. Borrow the book after receiving a notification by email.
  4. Books can be returned via the circulation desks on the 2nd and 3rd floors in the Main Library and on the 7th floor at the NU SoM Library.

Service Policy:
  • Service is only available for the NU community members.
  • Requested items will be delivered on Thursdays and can be borrowed from 4 PM.
  • You will be notified by email about the status of your order.
  • Requests submitted after 12:30 PM on Thursday will be processed and delivered the following Thursday.
  • The maximum request allowance per week is 3 copies per person.
  • Unavailable titles (0 out of 1) are not covered by the service.
  • Items will be held for 3 days at the pick-up library. Unclaimed items will be shipped back to the owning library after this period.
  • Patrons who do not pick up requested items will be banned from the service for one month. A second offense will result in a six-month ban.
  • The borrowing period follows library rules.
  • Periodicals, videos/DVDs, audiobooks, and maps are excluded from this delivery service.
