This week, we wrapped up the celebration of Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2025! Here’s a quick look at NU Library’s initiatives and resources that foster critical thinking and the responsible use of AI.
NU Library’s Contribution to Media & Information Literacy
Developing media and information literacy has long been one of NU Library’s core priorities.
• In 2022, NU Librarians launched the “Sauatty Keleşek” social-educational project in partnership with Өрлеу and the Republican Scientific-Pedagogical Library. The project trained 365 school librarians, teachers, and students from the Akmola region to use digital tools, work with online information, and foster inclusion.

• Our librarians also contribute to global research on misinformation.
This year, April Manabat, Darya Zvonareva, and Zhuldyz Orazymbetova co-authored a chapter in Fake News Across Asian Countries (Taylor & Francis, Scopus-indexed), edited by Edson C. Tandoc Jr.
