Instagram Reels Contest: Open Access: Who Owns Our Knowledge?

In celebration of International Open Access Week, the Nazarbayev University Library invites all members of the NU community to participate in our Instagram Reels Contest.

This year’s theme, “Who Owns Our Knowledge?”, is a powerful question that encourages us to reflect on how research and information should be shared and accessed.

How to Join
Create a short video (up to 2 minutes) that explores the theme. Your reel may:

• Explain the meaning of open access and why it matters
• Show how open access empowers research and education
• Share your personal view on who should have access to knowledge
• Use storytelling, humor, or creativity to make your message engaging

Awards and Recognition
The most original and impactful reels will be featured on the NU Library Instagram page, and winners will receive special prizes.

• Start: October 1, 2025
• End: October 20, 2025
• Winner Announcement: October 21, 2025

How to Participate
Upload your reel to Instagram, tag @library.nu.edu.kz, and use the hashtag #OpenAccessWeekNU.
