On April 9, 2026, the NU Library welcomed Syrym Baktygereyuly, a distinguished Kazakh journalist, essayist, and writer, and the author of the book Oiyl.
During his visit, the author was introduced to the library’s resources and services, with particular attention to its Kazakh-language collection. Library staff conducted a guided tour, highlighting key collections and ongoing efforts to develop and promote Kazakh-language materials.
The visit also included an informal discussion, where librarians engaged directly with the author, asking questions about his professional experience, writing process, and perspectives on contemporary Kazakh literature. The exchange provided valuable insights and emphasized the importance of dialogue between authors and the academic community.
