Final Cohort of the Academic Publishing and Research Integrity Course Completed in November

In November 2025, the NU Library successfully completed the third cohort of the certified “Academic Publishing Support and Research Integrity” course, designed for administrative staff and managers within Nazarbayev University Research Administration (NURA). The program supports researchers, grant administrators, project managers, and academic staff in managing grant operations, research dissemination, and ethical publication practices.

The course is structured as an intensive 18-hour, two-week program that includes six days of in-person workshops complemented by self-paced learning in Moodle. Participants gain practical skills in journal evaluation, manuscript preparation, publishing models, identifying high-impact journals and using metrics, exploring key reference databases (Scopus and Web of Science), navigating author rights and licensing, and recognizing predatory practices. The program also covers NU’s best practices on Open Access publishing and the responsible use of AI in research and academic writing.

A total of three cohorts completed the course in June, October, and November 2025, demonstrating strong motivation to advance professional expertise in research support.
