Annual Week of Women 2025 at NU: Roundtable Discussion and Book Exhibition

On March 4, 2025, the NU Library hosted the highlight event of the Annual Week of Women 2025 at NU — the Roundtable Discussion: Celebrating Success Stories for Gender Equality. The event featured outstanding women from our community who shared their experiences and insights on advancing gender equality. Discussions focused on key initiatives that promote inclusivity, challenge stereotypes, and drive sustainable change.

Our distinguished speakers included:
  • Zhazira Agabekova, Assistant Professor, Department of Kazakh Language and Turkic Studies, School of Sciences and Humanities, NU
  • Naureen Durrani, Professor, Graduate School of Education, NU
  • Shumaila Yousafzai, Professor, Graduate School of Business, NU

Participants from NU and beyond engaged in meaningful discussions, drawing lessons from NU’s real-life contributions to gender equality. The session underscored the importance of education, business strategy, and policy development in fostering long-term change.

Alongside the roundtable, the NU Library presented a special book display focused on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The collection at the Main Library and the School of Medicine Library provided students and researchers with valuable resources to continue the conversation. A digital collection remains accessible on the library’s website.

The NU Library extends its gratitude to our speakers, attendees, and everyone who contributed to this impactful event. As we continue advocating for gender equality, we encourage the NU community to explore these resources, reflect on shared insights, and take meaningful action toward a more inclusive future.

Let’s keep the momentum going — #AccelerateAction for gender equality!
