ALA Presidential Citation Award

The Nazarbayev University Library’s Virtual Library InfoLit Race Challenge received the prestigious American Library Association (ALA) Presidential Citation for Innovative International Projects, the award was presented by American Library Association (ALA) President Julius C. Jefferson, Jr. The International Relations Round Table Committee of ALA chaired by Alexandra Humphreys was in-charge of evaluating the nominees.


The NU Library is among the five libraries to be given an award this year. The other awardees were: 
* South Shore Public Libraries, Canada
* Run Run Shaw Library, Hong Kong
* Vancouver Island Regional Library, Canada

* Red River College Library, Canada


The Library InfoLit Race Challenge was organized by the NU Library for the 3rd time. In 2020, the challenge was held online with the support of the Student Government and Clarivate Analytics. The organizers identified the main goals of the challenge as expanding students' knowledge, developing research skills and the ability to find credible information.
