Ramina Mukundan

Ramina Mukundan - our newest staff member in Reference services, Subject Librarian for Center for Preparatory Studies

"I hail from Kerala, the lush green southern state of India. I have been a professional librarian for the past 20 years serving in various academic, medical and research libraries in India, Kuwait and UAE.

After having done a degree in Zoology, my love for books and libraries led me to acquire a Master's degree and teaching qualification in Library and Information science. I started my career as Medical librarian and then moved to various academic libraries including schools and universities along with my professional career, I continued my education and did my post graduate diploma in Library Automation and Networking and lately completed MS in Information Studies from Robert Gordon University. UK for which I undertook a project study in ‘Analysis and Visualization of Research Output of Universities in the UAE’.

Information Literacy, Researcher Impact studies and citation analysis, and E-resources management are my favorite professional areas. I always try to stay abreast with technological innovations in libraries and is very passionate about the library services and their impact on student learning.

My hobbies include Indian classical dance form ‘Bharatanatyam’, which I have been practicing since my childhood. My message to the Students of NU would be to chase their dreams and passions with ambition and determination. No matter where life’s journey leads you, be in the pursuit of knowledge... lifelong!"
