COVID-19 Dashboard - a newly developed tool that helps to assess the short and long term effects on industries, economies and consumers, monitors the development of coronavirus in 2020 and its impact on a variety of indicators across 80 countries.

Economic Scenario Model shows views of: COVID-19 data - Coronavirus infections: Total cases, Active, Recovered and Deaths are all reported on a daily basis, along with the future outlook. The source of historic data is the World Health Organization (WHO) and forecasts through 2020 are based on Euromonitor International’s proprietary virus propagation model. View of the impact on:

  • Real GDP - The epidemic’s impact on each country’s Real GDP growth is measured using Euromonitor International’s Macro Model. The model takes into account Covid-19 propagation, supply chain disruptions, change in business and consumer confidence and corrections in global stock prices among other factors. With forecasts through to 2028, data is regularly updated in line with epidemic and economic developments.
  • Industries - Showing retail sales growth in 2020 across 19 Passport Industries, how is each impacted by the epidemic, which stand to benefit and which will lose out based on disrupted consumer behaviour? Based on a combination of Euromonitor International’s Macro Model, our consumer demand micro models, and direct input from our Industry experts, this tab will update on a regular basis as the situation evolves.
  • Disposable income - Analyse how various consumer income groups (eg middle class) are affected by the epidemic through 2024. The effects are captured by Euromonitor’s International’s Income Distribution Model. The data is updated in sync with Real GDP updates.
  • Travel - disclose the impact on arrivals and departures in each country through to 2024, as captured by Euromonitor International’s Travel Model. The data is updated in sync with Real GDP updates.

Macro model dashboard is updated with a new “baseline” macro-economic forecast plus 3 new COVID-19 related recession scenarios . Accessed from Economy, Finance & Trade page within Economies Tab, accompanying insights will be published a week after the update.
