Research Methods Library of Alexandria

A team of scientists from the University of Pittsburgh (USA) and the New Library of Alexandria (Egypt) took the initiative to promote knowledge of research methods and statistics.

The ability to use scientific research methods and statistics is the key point in research. The effectiveness of scientific activities and the productivity of the scientist are determined by the quantity and quality of publications. Despite the fact that 27% of scientists live in developing countries, unfortunately, the number of publications entering the scientific world from developing countries is only 3%. The main reason for the low level of publicity is statophobia. 80% of articles that are denied publication contain weak research methods.

The project's objective is to disseminate information among scientists, faculty, and students on available resources in the Library of Alexandria in this area as much as possible. By following this link, you will find the largest collection of materials on research methods and statistics including:

·         FAQ on common statistical methods,

·         Ability to ask questions via Help Desk to experts,

·         More than 1,000 lectures from experts,

·         Developed examples of surveys translated into 8 languages,

·         Special applications for conducting research, etc.

We call upon all interested parties to share this information and to join the project.
