The library houses an extensive collection for study, research, and recreational reading. Most of the books are arranged on open shelves, providing students, faculty, and staff with easy access to thousands of volumes.
Loan services are available to current students, faculty members, and staff. For items or questions not addressed here, please consult a librarian at the circulation desk.

- Borrow
- Use the self-check-out/in stations in the reading rooms or ask a librarian at the circulation desk.
- Have your NU ID card with you, as it also serves as your library card.
- Make sure that you have no overdue books; otherwise, you will not be able to borrow any additional items.
- RenewUse Your Library Account
- The "Renew" button becomes active three days before the due date.
- Books can be renewed up to three times (for other items, please see the table below).
- Overdue books cannot be renewed and must be returned to the library circulation desk.
- ReturnUse self-check-out/in-stations, book drop terminals, or ask the librarian at the circulation desk.
You can borrow the following number of books:
- Undergraduate: 10 (in addition to textbooks taken for the semester)
- Graduate: 25
- Faculty Members and Researchers: 25
- Staff Members: 10
Log into your Library Account to
- View and renew items you have checked out and when they are due
- Check the status of your reserves
- Check your textbook package and course reserves
Fines, Fees, and Lost Book Charges
Overdue Books
Currently, the library does not impose any penalties for overdue books. However, users with overdue items on their account are restricted from borrowing other library materials until the overdue items are returned.
Lost or Damaged Books or Other Library Materials
Users are required to pay for lost or damaged items or replace them with similar items of the same cost. To discuss costs, please contact:
