Welcome to the NU Library
Founded in 2010, the NU Library supports the research and information needs of the Nazarbayev University community. It houses an extensive collection of nearly 250,000 print volumes, along with electronic books and journals, microfiche collections, DVDs, and a wide range of electronic databases, primarily in English. The NU Library is one of the most advanced academic libraries in Central Asia and was the first in the region to offer 24/7 access to its users in 2018. In 2023, with the implementation of the Alma and Primo systems, it became the first library in Kazakhstan to operate on this integrated library platform.
The library regularly organizes user engagement initiatives such as the Information Literacy Race, the Human Library, the Week of Women, and many other highly popular activities within the university community. NU librarians actively share their professional expertise with colleagues across Kazakhstan and offer internship opportunities for library and information science students. In addition, NU librarians publish scholarly articles and book chapters and present their work at national and international library seminars and conferences.
