Welcome to the NU Library
The NU Library was founded in 2010 to cater to the research and information needs of the Nazarbayev University community. It houses a vast collection of nearly 250,000 print volumes, as well as collections of electronic books and journals, microfiches, DVDs, and electronic databases, primarily in English. It is one of the most advanced academic libraries in Central Asia and was the first in the region to offer 24/7 access to its readers in 2018. In 2023, the implementation of the new Alma and Primo systems made it the first library in Kazakhstan to operate this library platform.
The library regularly organizes user engagement programs such as the Information Literacy Race, Human Library, Week of Women, and many other activities that are highly sought after by the university community. NU librarians actively and effectively share their wealth of knowledge and experience with other librarians in Kazakhstan and provide internship programs to library and information students. Additionally, NU librarians publish articles and book chapters and present at library seminars and conferences.
