Course Reserves is a library service for faculty and teaching staff, designed to ensure that course-related materials are available to students throughout the semester.
These materials can be accessed either electronically or physically through the NU Library.

Place Materials in Course Reserves
- Kindly complete the Course Reserve Request Form or email us at coursereserves@nu.edu.kz.
- If you would like to place your material in the Reserves, please bring the material to your designated Subject Librarians clearly labelled as personal items. The NU Library is not responsible for any loss or damage while the material is on the Reserves.
- If you would like to place a title both in print and online format or be on Short Loan shelves you can specify this further in the course reserve request form.
- If you know that the Library does not own a title, we can purchase the title and it will be automatically added to the Reserves shelves. To place a request to purchase, please use the Purchase Request Form.
Course Reserves is a library service wherein course-related materials are made available to students for the entire semester and are accessible either electronically or physically through the NU Library. You may hear other terms "textbook package", "reading lists", ''list of textbooks' or other.
Search in Primo with course code/name, instructor name, book titles.
Course Reserves may include, but are not limited to, library books, textbooks, the instructor's book, videos, ebooks, journal articles, book chapters, recordings, class handouts, and other materials deemed necessary by the instructor. The NU Library can only provide access to materials owned or subscribed to by the Library.
The course reserves are available at both the NU Main Library (2nd and 3rd floors) and the NU SoM Library.
Course reserves are only available to bona fide members of the academic community, specifically those who are currently enrolled in the subject.
Yes, you can borrow Course Reserves for a limited time (e.g., 2 hours to 1 day/overnight) if it is a short loan, or for the entire semester (120-150 days) if it is a textbook requested by the instructors teaching the subject.
Course Reserves are the required readings set by the professors teaching the subject, which may include textbooks among other materials.
