Visitors & Alumni
The NU Library is open for external visitors on a request basis.
1. Request Process:
- Address your request to the NU Library Director.
- Use official letterhead.
- Ensure the request is approved by your Dean or Supervisor.
- Describe the research topic or other purpose for the visit, including the timeline.
2. Submission:
- Send a signed scan copy to nu@nu.edu.kz.
- Submit the original letter to the documentation office (Block C2, Room 2018).
3. Visitor Requirements:
- Visitors must present their National ID when visiting the Library.
Temporary readers with granted access are welcome to utilize our extensive collection of printed materials (read-only) and library facilities. Access to online resources may be restricted in adherence to licensing agreements and security protocols, except for open-access resources.
Please note that access to the library may be restricted during busy exam periods.

We recognize that learning doesn't stop once you graduate, and we offer alumni services.
As an alumnus, you have on-campus access to most library databases and books. For one year after you graduate, you can log into the library website to access databases from off-campus. When you visit, please bring your alumni card.

Visiting faculty and researchers have access to electronic resources and other library materials with permission from their affiliated school or research center to IT. Please note that access to e-resources might also be restricted by license agreements; please check the access level in the description of the database included in the A-Z list.
