14th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference
The Nazarbayev University Library, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Association of University Libraries in the Republic of Kazakhstan, cordially invites library and information professionals, researchers, practitioners, and students currently pursuing or recently graduated from a Library and Information Science (LIS) program to the 14th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC 2025). Representatives from medical, special, school, and public libraries are also welcome to attend.

With a focus on fostering strong dialogues and collaborations, this year’s conference encourages participants to celebrate libraries' engagement in meaningful and impactful conversations within and across societies, highlighting their integral role in various contexts. The conference also invites dynamic self-reflection on libraries' evolving roles, expanding reach, and influence on education, research, and society from diverse perspectives.

The working languages of the conference are Kazakh, Russian, and English.

Call for Submissions
With the theme "Library as a Dialogue Hub: Bridging Communities Through Conversations," the Program Committee seeks paper and poster submissions on the following topics.
Submission Guidelines
Participants are invited to contribute research and case studies related to the theme and other relevant aspects. Please submit your work to ealc@nu.edu.kz.
Plenary Presentation
Plenary presentation is the essential format for the conference. The length should be exceed 15 min. Speakers will be provided with additional few minutes for Q&A.

Speakers interested in presenting must express their interest by 31 March 2025. They should submit the following:
  • The title of their presentation
  • A brief overview or abstract of their presentation (500 words)
Submitted proposals must be original and written in English, Russian, and Kazakh. Notification of accepted presentations will be sent by 15 April 2025.

  • A photo
  • A biographical note

  • The committee prefers presentations in MS PowerPoint. If you plan to use a different format, please inform us by 1 May 2025.
Poster
Poster Presentation Guidelines
The poster presentation includes work-in-progress reports, new developments, and innovations. Your display should summarize your research results using visuals such as tables, graphs, and pictures. During the conference, presenters will showcase their posters and be available to discuss their work at designated times.

Speakers interested in presenting must express their interest by 31 March 2025. Submitted posters should be original and written in English, Russian, or Kazakh. Notification of accepted posters will be provided by 15 April 2025.

Poster Format:
  • Size: A1 Portrait (85 cm x 120 cm)
  • Printed on paper for display on poster boards

Workshops
Workshops are interactive sessions where participants actively engage in discussions and activities to enhance their skills or generate practical ideas for future use.

Abstract length: A 500-word proposal that includes details on the topics to be covered, objectives, expected outcomes, target audience, and required equipment.

Proposal submission: The proposal must be original and written in English, Russian, and Kazakh.

Presentation format (if applicable): The committee prefers presentations in MS PowerPoint. If you plan to use a different format, please inform us by May 1, 2025.

PechaKucha is a concise, engaging, and inspiring narrated slideshow consisting of 20 slides, with each slide displayed for 20 seconds, created using MS PowerPoint. It typically features progress updates, new developments, innovations, and best practices.

Commercial Delegates ($100)

Library vendors, such as book distributors, subscription agents, and other commercial dealers, including suppliers and publishers, will be charged 100 US dollars for registration to cover conference costs. Likewise, the third and subsequent representatives from bronze, silver, and gold sponsorships will be charged the same amount.
Interested sponsors or vendors must register online according to their sponsorship level.
  • Acceptance of the sponsorship invitation must be made on or before 1 April 2025.
  • The deadline for submitting all vendor information (high-resolution logo, video, etc.) is 12 April 2025.
  • Full payment of the sponsorship fee must be made on or before 12 April 2025.
